Stephward Estate

Stephward Estate is a country house located in Uvongo, Kwa-Zulu Natal's South Coast. The estate had its origins in 1989 when Stephen Van Belkum and Howard Eades purchased land to create a holiday getaway for themselves after relocating their clothing design and manufacturing business from Johannesburg.

The estate offers luxury accommodation, including a Honeymoon Suite, with secure parking and a private lake. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, ceiling fans, fridges, TVs, tea and coffee facilities, and hair dryers. Morning breakfasts are served at the pool deck, and the fully licensed bar provides information and assistance for day trips and surrounding attractions.

Stephward Estate prides itself as a wedding venue, with the owners and staff dedicated to organizing and delivering a trouble-free, organized, and happy occasion. Every detail is considered when planning and coordinating weddings. The estate also offers a restaurant, both indoor and al fresco under the enclosed pool deck, catering to various events such as milestone birthdays, christenings, kitchen teas, promotional and lunch parties, and wakes.

The estate offers garden wedding services or a private chapel with stained glass windows that can accommodate up to 120 guests. Receptions are catered for on the enclosed pool deck with a choice of color schemes. The restaurant can cater for romantic engagements, birthdays, and weddings. The luxury accommodation is set privately within the gardens, ensuring peace, privacy, and tranquility.

Stephward Estate is known for its tranquility and abundance of rare plants and wild birds. It is close to beaches, golf courses, and shopping centers. The estate features a two-bedroom unit, with the main room featuring a queen-size bed and the second room having two single beds with an adjoining bathroom. Each room has ceiling fans and hair dryers, with the main bedroom being air-conditioned and equipped with a TV. All suites have tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, and are wired for DSTV, although guests need to bring their own decoder and sim card. DVD players are available at no charge from the reception.
