Sterland Skrywershuisie & Annex

The Sterland Skrywershuisie & Annex is a self-catering accommodation option suitable for four to six people traveling together. The Skrywershuisie cottage has two bedrooms with double beds and a shared bathroom. It also features a cozy lounge with a TV, Selected DStv, Wi-Fi, and an indoor fireplace, along with an outside sheltered braai area, perfect for cold winter months.

The Skrywershuisie Annex is a small, comfortable room ideal for a one-night stay or as an additional room for a group joining other guests at the Skrywershuisie. The two buildings are located approximately 20 meters apart on the same plot, and both offer an outside braai area and free Wi-Fi.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, a microwave, a two-plate stove, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Guests can enjoy breakfast at their own cost at several restaurants within walking distance of the guesthouse.

Sutherland is a beautiful and quiet area in the middle of the Karoo, best known as the site of the South African Large Telescope (SALT). Visitors are encouraged to take an observatory tour and participate in a private stargazing session right outside town. The establishment runs eight telescopes and offers a show every night at STERLAND, located one kilometer out of town, where open skies can be enjoyed. Bookings are essential, and warm clothing is recommended during winter months.

The establishment also offers a beautiful private honeymoon suite on-site, featuring a cozy room with an en-suite shower, an open-plan kitchen, a microwave, an electric hot plate stove combination, a fridge, coffee/tea facilities, a full kitchen, and a toaster.
