Stonechat Self Catering

Stonechat Self Catering is a private camping resort located 280 km from Johannesburg on the N4 and 25 km from Waterval Boven and 75 km from Nelspruit. It offers an ideal weekend getaway for families who enjoy the outdoors and countryside. The resort features three tents on decks and additional camping sites next to the main dam.

Guests can engage in various activities such as fishing for trout and bass in the main dam, hiking and cycling along 6 km of trails, or canoeing on the dams in a safe environment. Early morning or late afternoon self-drive game viewing experiences are also available, providing opportunities to spot occasional game like waterbuck, kudu, eland, reedbuck, and warthog. Birdwatchers can enjoy sightings of the fish eagle in its spectacular dive and other birdlife that frequent the surroundings.

Amenities for children include a jungle gym and an aerial runway (zip line) over the dam for the adventurous. The cottage accommodates up to seven guests with three bedrooms: the main room has a double bed, the second room has a double bed, and the third room has bunk beds and a single bed suitable for three children. The main bathroom features a toilet, basin, and bath, while the second bathroom has a toilet, basin, and shower.

The cottage is equipped with a dining room, kitchen, bed linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, a kettle, toaster, fridge, gas hob stove (no oven), microwave oven, a TV with open view channels, a wood fireplace, and an outside braai. The cottage is serviced upon departure.
