Stonehouse Lodge

Stonehouse Lodge is a charming house situated on the Goukou River. It combines rustic stone elements with modern finishings. The lodge accommodates up to 11 people, making it an ideal choice for large families or groups travelling together.

The house features two bedrooms on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the upper level. There is one shared full bathroom with a shower, a separate shower room with a toilet and basin, as well as a guest restroom. Upstairs, there is a play area equipped with a table tennis table and a pool table.

The open-plan lounge and dining area features a large fireplace, a TV with DStv, and a DVD player. It also includes an eight-seater dining table. The lodge has a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a kettle, crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils. For added convenience, there is a washing machine and a dishwasher.

Outside, there is a large wrap-around veranda with an undercover braai area. The lodge comes with a private jetty and slipways for those who wish to bring a boat. There is a trampoline for children to enjoy, and two undercover parking bays are available.

The river is suitable for boating, swimming, and water skiing. The section of the river in front of the house is deep enough for guests to enjoy water skiing during both high and low tides. The lodge has a private dam for catch-and-release bass fishing. It is also a beautiful venue for small, intimate weddings for up to 50 guests, featuring a large covered veranda, a bar, an open-plan kitchen for catering, a large garden, a dam for pictures, and a resident qualified chef for catering.

The lodge offers a variety of wildlife, including Bontebok, Gemsbok, Springbok, and indigenous Bushbuck and Steenbuck. There is a local 9-hole golf course with stunning sea views. Guests can enjoy indoor activities such as pool tables, table tennis, a trampoline, and a foofie slide over the dam. Children can feed and pet the farm animals, and experienced riders can enjoy horse rides. The jetty on the river is great for water sports, and the Stilbaai Blue Flag beach is just 10 minutes away.

The lodge's bedrooms are distributed as follows: Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed with a ceiling light and fan, while Bedroom 2 has a queen-size bed and ceiling light and fans on the ground floor. Upstairs, Bedroom 3 features a double bed with an en-suite bathroom, and Bedroom 4 has a double bed and a single double bunk. There is also an open area with a single bed and a pull-out bed. All bedrooms offer a pleasant view of the river and are furnished with percale linen.
