Stoneybrook Guest Lodge

Stoneybrook Guest Lodge is situated in the southwest corner of KwaZulu-Natal, in the heart of East Griqualand, approximately 12.5 kilometers from Kokstad. It offers comfortable accommodation and hearty breakfasts with a personal touch, allowing guests to unwind to the sounds of nature in the stone and thatch chalets set in beautiful surroundings. The lodge features a fully licensed a la carte steakhouse and a rustic bar, which is a well-known local watering hole where guests can meet interesting local farmers and residents of the district.

The lodge provides an opportunity for guests to break their journey before or after driving through the Transkei/Eastern Cape or up into the Lesotho Mountains. It offers peace and tranquillity, as well as the ability to host functions. Guests can sit back and relax at the bar while the owners, Shane and Annette, prepare delicious meals to their specifications, including the famous East Griqualand beef.

In addition to the accommodation, guests can visit a working dairy and sheep farm nearby or enjoy a tribal experience that can be organized by prior arrangement. For those interested in off-road driving, the lodge offers the opportunity to test their 4x4 driving skills on its own off-road course. Two of the chalets can accommodate extra guests, providing additional flexibility for larger groups or families.
