Strandlopertjies Cottage is a charming, picturesque stone cottage located on the riverfront at the mouth of the Breede River. The interior is cozy, modern, and artistically furnished. The cottage has two bedrooms, with the main bedroom featuring a double bed, and the second bedroom having two single beds or a double bunk bed. Additionally, there is a second double bed in the lounge, accommodating a total of six guests.

The cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely outdoor barbecue area under the old Milkwood trees near the water. Inside, there is a cozy stove fireplace to warm up the winter evenings. It's important to note that the cottage does not have a television, and guests are required to bring their own linens, towels, duvet covers, fitted sheets, and pillow covers. The cottage provides duvet and pillow inners.

Strandlopertjies Cottage is an ideal destination for families, as there is a shallow sandy beach right in front of the cottage, which is very safe for swimming. The area is also a paradise for fishing and fly-fishing enthusiasts, as blood worms and pink prawns can be pumped right in front of the cottage. Additionally, the surrounding area offers opportunities for sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing (rated as one of the 10 best locations worldwide), hiking, bird watching, and whale watching, with the best months being from June to October.

It's important to note that the cottage is accessible by a one-hour gravel road from Swellendam, and there is only a farm shop nearby that sells basic necessities. As a result, guests are advised to bring their own food supplies. Braai wood can be purchased at the farm shop. Additionally, as there are no municipal services, guests are politely asked to take their own garbage to the dump, approximately 2 km from the cottage.

Strandlopertjies Cottage offers a peaceful and quiet retreat, with a sunny climate, breathtaking views, and the sounds of unspoiled nature. It is a dream cottage on the waterfront of the Breede River mouth, surrounded by dunes and water, making it a paradise for various outdoor activities. The cottage is not pet-friendly, but guests may occasionally encounter wildlife such as birds, tortoises, rabbits, or small antelopes visiting the premises.
