Summer Place Umzumbe

Summer Place Umzumbe is a family beach holiday destination situated directly on the main swimming beach at Umzumbe, approximately 90 km south of Durban between Hiberdene and Port Shepstone. It is known as the best kept secret of the Hibiscus Coast and is located next to the well-renowned Pumula Beach Hotel.

It consists of four beach cottages. The Penthouse is beautifully decorated with a fully equipped kitchen, a large lounge leading onto a balcony, and two bedrooms with double beds, with the main bedroom having a big bathroom. Lookout Cottage can accommodate up to 12 guests in three bedrooms (two with double beds and one with twin beds), three bathrooms, a large fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast counter, an open-plan dining room, a lounge, and its own private deck and gate onto the beach.

The Honeymoon Cottage can sleep four guests, with two bedrooms with double beds and a lovely modern bathroom. It has a fully equipped kitchen with modern fittings and a big lounge area with large sliding doors providing access to the beach. The Big Brother Cottage is a small cottage that can comfortably accommodate two adults in a double bed and a sleeper couch. It is ultra-modern with a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge, and the same accessibility to the beach as the other units.

All necessary amenities are located directly on the property, with top-notch security and ample on-site parking. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the year, and shark nets protect the main swimming beach. The sea splash pool is a huge favorite with children. Summer Place is conveniently situated near several golf courses, with Umzumbe providing various water sports and recreational facilities. Spa and beauty facilities are available in Hibberdene, 7km away.

Summer Place offers a stunning view for romantic sunsets and is ideal for long romantic walks on the beach. There are about six golf courses in the area, from Selbourne through to the Wild Coast. Children are welcome, with ample space to play and roam. The beach has a shallow tidal pool for the little ones, while the main beach is perfect for better swimmers. Ice cream is sold on the beach. Summer Place is situated directly on the main Umzumbe blue flag swimming beach, with a beach tidal pool, lifeguards, and excellent fishing from Stiebel Rocks.
