Summerhill Estate Culinary Retreat, established in 1997, is a family-owned and operated retreat situated in a remote location that offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city while still being close enough to see the vibrant city lights at night. The estate spans across 13,000 square meters and offers 17 individually designed, fully air-conditioned, and spacious rooms, ensuring each guest finds their perfect match.

The retreat aims to provide a casual ambiance paired with professionalism in hospitality, guaranteeing dedicated assistance, attention to detail, and warmth and caring. Each room or suite is named after a South African jazz player who has stayed and performed at the estate. Additional services include a conference room, transport services, babysitting, a children's play area, a library, and laundry service.

Guests can enjoy the peaceful garden, sunbathe overlooking Durban and the Indian Ocean, or spend the day by one of the pools. The estate's "LivingRoom" - Supper Club focuses on conveying South Africa's culinary and lifestyle perspectives through regional products, recipes, and a sustainable approach combined with global experience. The philosophy revolves around "from our garden to our plates," offering great food and company for the perfect dinner experience.

The rooms feature Queen or King size extra length beds, a small sitting area, TV with DSTV, minibar, tea and coffee facility, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms.
