Sunbird Lodge

Sunbird Lodge is a business that emphasizes good quality and friendly service. It is a family-run establishment located on more than 2.5 acres of tropical gardens, which host a wide variety of bird species. The lodge offers an ambiance where guests can relax and unwind, with hosts Samantha and David Lockhart ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Guests can lounge by the swimming pool, sit under one of the lapas with a drink from the bar, or enjoy the gardens at night while stargazing. The lodge provides an opportunity to unwind and destress.

Accommodation is available on a bed-and-breakfast basis, with the option of requesting lunches and evening meals. Guests can choose from one of five rooms in the main house, one of two rooms by the swimming pool, or one of three garden rooms. All rooms have private access from the gardens and are either twin or double-bedded with en-suite bathrooms (either bath and shower or just shower). Amenities in all rooms include TVs, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Each room has its own stoop with a table and chairs.

The lodge offers excellent braai facilities, a unique African bar, a large swimming pool, secure parking, laundry service, fax, and Internet (WIFI) connections. Transfers from Pahalaborwa airport can be arranged for a nominal fee. All rooms are of good size, en-suite, and have DSTV, air conditioning, ceiling fans, tea/coffee-making facilities, fridges, patios overlooking either the gardens or the swimming pool, and are non-smoking. Free WIFI is available in the rooms.
