Sunflower Cottage

Sunflower Cottage is a self-catering cottage located in the village of McGregor. It is one of the oldest and most beloved historical houses in the area, originally constructed in the 1880s. The cottage's thick adobe walls, mud floors, reed ceilings, and thatched roof serve as natural insulators against the varying temperatures of the Little Karoo region. It is situated within a convenient walking distance from all shops and restaurants in McGregor.

Sunflower Cottage offers a lovely base for guests to explore the beautiful village of McGregor and the surrounding winelands or to retreat and immerse themselves in the feeling of a bygone era. The cottage features an en-suite double bedroom with a spacious mosquito net and memory foam mattress topper. It provides 100% cotton bed linen and towels. The second bedroom has two single beds and a writing desk, offering a quiet space for thinking and writing. However, it is important to note that there is only one bathroom inside, which is en-suite to the main bedroom. The second bedroom is ideal for children or friends who do not mind sharing or using the outside bathroom.

The cottage features a well-equipped kitchen, secure undercover parking, a large patio and braai facilities, a lush private garden with a hammock, and daily housekeeping upon request. The garden is fully enclosed and pet-friendly upon request. Wood-fired, hand-crafted pottery basins and vintage crockery add to the charm of the cottage. Sunflower Cottage is a romantic cottage in the lovely Karoo village of McGregor, offering a feeling of a bygone era and an opportunity for romantic evenings by the fire and stargazing at the amazing Karoo sky.
