Swartberg Country Manor

Swartberg Country Manor is situated on the Voorbedacht Farm in the Cango Valley at the foot of the world-renowned Swartberg Pass. The main farmhouse has been converted into a comfortable guest house that offers nine en-suite guest rooms, and the original 1864 farmhouse has been renovated to offer an additional five en-suite guest rooms. The manor features picturesque panoramic views of the Swartberg Mountains, providing a tranquil and peaceful environment for guests to escape from everyday life.

The manor features Oregon pine floors and ceilings, adding character and ambiance to the historical work of art. Guests are hosted by a dedicated team, ensuring an unforgettable homely experience. Meals are served in the spacious dining room or on the veranda overlooking the spectacular Swartberg Mountains. During warm summer days, traditional South African delicacies are prepared outdoors on open fires next to the swimming pool, complemented by refreshing beverages from the bar.

Voorbedacht is a working farm, offering guests the unique opportunity to explore and experience subsistence farming in the Little Karoo. Daily walks on the farm allow guests to experience the peace and serenity of the beautiful valley, while mountain bikes are available for those seeking more adventurous terrain exploration. Swartberg Eco Explore provides customized packages for guests to explore the historical, geological, and natural treasures of the Swartberg Mountains, the Little Karoo, and the Great Karoo.

The manor also features a wedding venue that can accommodate 70 to 120 guests, including a chapel, garden, and marquee. The Historical House (1864), with its four enchanting rooms overlooking a fig orchard, adds to the charm and character of the venue.
