Tau Game Lodge

Tau Game Lodge is a privately-owned lodge situated in the Malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, overlooking a vast natural waterhole that attracts a variety of game. The lodge was built in 1995 and designed to reflect the natural surroundings, utilizing natural resources wherever possible. It is located in the Great Marico area on the far Northern border of South Africa.

The two-level main building features a comfortable lounge, plunge pool, curio shop, bar, and a semi-open-air dining room overlooking the waterhole. Buffet breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the main building or on the verandah, while dinner is served in a cozy boma under the stars. The lodge can accommodate up to 60 people and is situated at an easy 4-hour driving distance from Johannesburg.

Tau Game Lodge offers amenities such as a state-of-the-art convention center suitable for up to 150 delegates, a wedding venue, and the Tau Spa Oasis, which provides rejuvenating spa treatments by extensively trained therapists. Two game drives per day are included in the accommodation package, and private dinners on guests' decks can be arranged for special occasions.

The lodge is child-friendly, offering special kiddies drives for children below 6 years of age. Children aged 6 and above are allowed on adult safaris, subject to management discretion. The Deluxe room can accommodate families (2 adults & 2 children under 12 years) or 3 adults sharing, featuring a large lounge area with a sleeper couch bed and an ensuite bathroom. Amenities in the Deluxe room include air conditioning, bathrobes, tea, and coffee-making facilities, as well as a private balcony.
