Thalassa, a 22-hectare beachfront property, is situated approximately 9 km from St Francis Bay within the Rebelsrus private nature reserve. It features a kilometer of coastline and is located against a fynbos-covered dune, just steps away from rock pools suitable for swimming. The property fosters a sense of peace and tranquility, and is located in the villages of St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis, which lie on the Indian Ocean at the western end of Algoa Bay. These unique coastal towns offer a myriad of activities, including golf, deep-sea fishing, hiking in the dunes, and access to superb restaurants.

St Francis Bay is the heart of the chokka or squid fishing industry and even has its own port. Situated only 100 km from Port Elizabeth and en route to Cape Town, the area is easily accessible, with an air field for private planes nearby. Big 5 reserves, including the magnificent Addo Elephant National Park and Shamwari, are within an hour and a half drive from the property.

Thalassa features three separate and fully functional units, allowing for privacy and space. Guests can start their day with a morning beverage on the front deck while watching for dolphins and whales, or enjoy the sun-drenched back deck surrounded by fynbos and bird songs. Activities range from visiting St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, and the surrounding beaches, to strolling through the fynbos or along the coast, or simply lounging around the private rock pools. Evenings can be spent watching the sunset over the distant hills while scanning the bays for otters and Southern Right whales (from June to September), followed by a cozy fire and local wines.
