Thandile Country Lodge

Thandile Country Lodge is a historic property located 14.5 km from Bela-Bela on the Alma Road in South Africa's Limpopo Province. The lodge features the original farmhouse built in 1852, which has been beautifully restored to offer seven colonial-style furnished units with distinctive yellow wood ceilings. All units open onto a wrap-around veranda overlooking the scenic Waterberg game farm setting.

The property offers both lodge accommodation and self-catering options, including the Timbaktu river cottages for guests seeking a glamping experience. The main lodge is equipped with 24/7 wifi and solar power, featuring two shared lounges and two year-round swimming pools. The restaurant area includes a large terrace overlooking two dams where catch-and-release fishing is available, alongside a fire pit with braai (barbecue) facilities.

Set on approximately 200 hectares, the game farm is home to various wildlife including kudu, impala, warthog, giraffe, vervet monkeys, bushbuck, and zebra. The lodge specializes in guided horse trails for game viewing, available to both overnight guests and day visitors. Additional activities include mountain biking and walking trails. The property is conveniently located 5.2 km from Elements golf course and 24 km from Zebula Golf Estate.

From June 2024, the lodge will introduce an on-site spa facility offering various luxury treatments. The venue is suitable for small family functions, weddings (up to 80 people), business workshops, and writers' retreats. The property is owner-managed and prides itself on its exceptional cuisine, utilizing fresh ingredients for both traditional South African dishes and English breakfasts.
