The Berries is a rustic timber log cabin situated on the southern side of Elands Bay, near Baboon Point and adjacent to the dune reserve on the beach. It faces the mountains, offering a view of the beach and sunsets over the ocean. The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a separate alcove furnished with four bunk beds. Full bedding and bath towels are provided, but guests need to bring their own beach towels.

The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a stove, a fridge-freezer, a toaster, a radio, and a dining area. A washing machine is also available. The shared bathroom contains a bath and a shower. Facing away from the Southeaster, the cottage opens onto a large timber deck, an indigenous garden, and an outdoor fire pit under the stars. An outdoor shower allows guests to rinse off after returning from the beach. Smoking is not permitted inside the premises.

Guests can engage in various outdoor activities such as surfing, windsurfing, kiting, sandboarding, fishing, hiking, and cycling. Crayfishing is also permitted for license holders in the area. Birdwatching can be done at Verlorenvlei, and canoeing is available. A 15-minute climb up the mountain and a walk around Baboon Point rewards visitors with Bushmen cave paintings and beautiful views of Elands Bay, the coast, and Verlorenvlei.

The Berries offers ideal holiday accommodation away from everything but close enough to all necessary amenities to keep guests occupied. It is a private destination, suitable for a romantic getaway or for one or two families with children. The cottage is ideally suited for a quiet weekend without the need to drive or interact with others if desired.
