The Blue Train Route, an iconic train service, has introduced a new route from Pretoria to Hoedspruit, near the Kruger National Park. The train departs from Pretoria and stops at Hoedspruit Station, where guests are then transferred to their chosen lodges in and around the Kruger National Park, as per their pre-arranged itineraries with The Blue Train. This new route allows guests to conveniently access game drives in the Kruger National Park.

The Blue Train offers luxurious accommodations in the De Luxe Suite, which features a double bed or twin beds and a three-quarter size bath tub with a handheld shower or separate showers. The beds are dressed in 100-percent percale cotton bedding, and each suite has individually-controlled air-conditioning, underfloor heating, opulent marble and gold-fitted bathrooms, scented bath salts, and plush monogrammed towels. While there is no satellite TV available, the train provides an on-board entertainment system with scheduled movies.
