The Boathouse At Oakhurst Olives represents a luxurious self-catering retreat nestled within an award-winning olive farm in Tulbagh, South Africa. Situated in the Cape Winelands region, approximately 90 minutes from Cape Town, the property is embraced by three mountain ranges: the Groot Winterhoek, Witzenberg, and Obiqua mountains.
This exclusive accommodation is designed for two guests, featuring an open-plan layout with a queen-sized bedroom equipped with white percale linen and air conditioning. The en-suite bathroom includes a shower, while the living space offers a dining area, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, and scullery. During winter months, guests can enjoy the comfort of a log fireplace and underfloor heating throughout the property.
The Boathouse's wrap-around veranda provides stunning water views and features a hot tub, barbecue facilities, and dining area. A lower-level ladder provides access to the water for swimming, and guests can enjoy kayaking with provided life jackets. The dam water, primarily used for olive orchard irrigation, may vary in capacity, particularly toward summer's end.
Upon arrival, guests receive complimentary amenities including various refreshments and fireplace essentials. A special olive tasting experience for two is included with each stay, although this is not available on Sundays. The property's location on the beautiful Oakhurst Olives farm, against the Groot Winterhoek Mountains, ensures a private and tranquil experience.
Due to its proximity to water, the accommodation is not recommended for children, and the maximum occupancy is strictly limited to two guests. The Boathouse offers an ideal retreat for those seeking a sophisticated escape in the heart of the Cape Winelands, combining luxury amenities with natural beauty.
