The Bougainvillas Bed And Breakfast is run by a Scottish family called the McCormicks, who reside in Joostenbergvlakte, a location situated in close proximity to Cape Town. The accommodation consists of three units that underwent renovations in 2006. These units are strategically positioned within an 8000 square-metre smallholding, which is divided between accommodation spaces and paddocks for horses.

Each unit is well-appointed, featuring en-suite facilities and equipped with either full DStv or a smaller ten-channel bouquet. The establishment offers its paddocks and other horse facilities to travelling riders attending equestrian events in Cape Town, providing them with a comfortable night's rest for themselves and their horses.

Situated in the semi-rural area of Joostenbergvlakte, the smallholding serves as an ideal base for exploring the Stellenbosch Winelands and the characteristic country town of Paarl. Each unit is furnished with quality, understated furnishings, including en-suite shower rooms, satellite TVs, and sleeper couches. Two units feature king-size beds, while the remaining unit has a queen-size bed. The sleeper couches can be converted into double beds to accommodate children under 16 years of age.
