The Conclave Country Lodge

The Conclave Country Lodge is a corporate venue that hosts functions, conferences, weddings, product launches, and team-building events. It is situated approximately 30 km outside of Pretoria North, near the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve. The lodge is tucked away among the rocky outcrops of the Bobbejaanberg Mountain, offering guests a blend of the bushveld experience and luxurious four-star treatment.

The lodge prides itself on its outstanding customer service and attention to detail, ensuring guests will be pleased with their choice of venue for corporate functions or weddings. The Conclave Country Lodge emphasizes exclusivity, providing undivided attention to guests throughout their stay and ensuring they do not have to compete for service or attention on their special occasion.

Originally acquired by the owner, Basil Du Plessis, in 2006, The Conclave Country Lodge has undergone an impressive restoration to become one of Dinokeng's most elegant lodges. Its name is derived from the phrase "once in a blue moon," referring to the rare occurrence of two full moons in a single month. Initially, the property consisted of only a thatched roof lapa with a cement floor, where church services were held on Sundays. On October 4, 2007, the construction of the main building, conference room, and venue was completed.

Tragically, the lodge was struck by lightning and burned to the ground on February 29, 2008. According to weather reports, lightning struck the earth 23 times within a 2 km radius in a span of 20 minutes. It took 9 months to rebuild the new lodge. The Conclave Country Lodge offers open-plan chalets with coffee stations, DStv, en-suite bathrooms, and either two single or double beds. All chalets have electricity and boast views of the natural beauty of the bushveld. Lunch and dinner are available at an additional cost.
