The Fyvie's @ 41 Glen Drive, Zinkwazi Beach

The Fyvie's is a beautiful, plantation-style home located at 41 Glen Drive, Zinkwazi Beach. It offers glorious views of the Indian Ocean and is situated approximately 300 meters from the beach and sea sand. The house is perched against the hillside and is surrounded by shaded verandas on both floors. When the large stacker doors are opened, the cool breeze through the house makes air-conditioning almost unnecessary, promoting indoor-outdoor living.

The double-story home is ideal for a large or extended family holiday. It features a blue pool for lazy sun-soaking and cool-off opportunities, while leisure time can be spent around the spacious bar and dining area, where stories of the day can be shared over drinks. The property is fully air-conditioned, offers Wi-Fi, DSTV in a separate media room, a Gas Weber for braai-time, and is serviced. It also has solar power backup for lights and plugs but not for air conditioning. Standing fans are provided in the bedrooms for use during load-shedding.

The property is secured by partial fencing, an electric gate, security beams, and an alarm supported by an armed response team. Three garages and secure parking within the property boundaries are provided. Bedrooms have sea views, air conditioning, built-in cupboards, hangers, and open onto large verandas. All linen, bath, and beach towels are supplied.

The house can accommodate up to 18 guests (maximum 10 adults and 8 children under 14) in seven bedrooms supported by four bathrooms. The quoted rates are for 10 guests. The bottom floor features a large, spacious, open-plan lounge, dining area, bar, kitchen, scullery, laundry, and guest restroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, hob and oven, fridge/freezer, two dishwashers (one in the bar), a chest freezer, and all cutlery and crockery.

The top floor consists of five bedrooms: one with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet; two with two single beds each; one with two bunk beds; and one with a double bed. The bedrooms share two bathrooms, each with a shower, basin, and toilet. An outside flat has one bedroom with two bunk beds, one bedroom with a double bed, and one bathroom with a basin, toilet, and shower. Please note that the stairs to the flat are very steep, making it suitable for a younger family.

Additional charges apply, including a daily staff levy of R535 per day (up to 12 guests, with an additional maid at R285 per day thereafter), and a breakage deposit of 10% of the accommodation value with a minimum of R2500, refundable if there are no breakages or repairs required. Groups of adults, functions of any kind, and pets are not allowed.

During peak season (December and January), minimum stay requirements apply. For bookings including Christmas and New Year, a minimum stay of 10 to 14 nights is required. For bookings including only Christmas, a minimum stay of 7 to 10 nights is required, ending no later than December 27th or 28th. For bookings including only New Year, a minimum stay of 7 to 10 nights is required, starting no earlier than December 27th or 28th. Shorter stays before and after this period (a minimum of 5 nights) may be considered once the owner has secured primary bookings.
