The Lapa

The Lapa is a self-catering guest house with a thatched roof located on the host's premises in Hillcrest, in the Valley of a Thousand Hills. It is an ideal base from which to explore the town's surrounding attractions and amenities. The double-storey detached guest cottage is situated in the gardens of the property, which is rich in bird life.

The unit can accommodate four guests, either two couples, a couple and two children, or three adults. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom features a double bed, while the second bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom, located on the ground floor, includes a shower, a basin, and a toilet.

The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge freezer combo, a microwave, kettle, iron and ironing board, an oven with a four-plate stove, storage cupboards, and a single bowl washbasin. There is also a built-in braai area with an open fireplace. The open-plan living area, approximately 85 square meters in size, is on the ground floor and features a TV with selected DStv channels. Free Wi-Fi is also available. The open-plan living area leads to the pool and garden area, which also has an outdoor braai area together with a garden patio under a white stinkwood tree, which guests can use.

Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool on the host's premises. Secure parking is provided. The Lapa is close to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and many attractions to visit, such as Krantzkloof Nature Reserve (9 kilometers away), Inanda Dam (16.5 kilometers away), and King Shaka International Airport (60 kilometers away).

The property features an idyllic garden with endemic and other trees, shrubs, and flowers, offering a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. The secluded area is home to many birds, depending on the season. There is a shaded garden patio and pool area, an external braai area, and private parking. The Lapa provides a tranquil and visually pleasing environment.

While the Lapa does not have its own golf course, it is conveniently located near at least ten noteworthy golf courses, some within a 3 to 10-kilometer distance, as well as two driving ranges and several lesser-known golf courses. A list of distances is available upon request.

The downstairs open-plan lounge, kitchenette, TV, and internal braai area, covering approximately 85 square meters, are ideal for families and are adjacent to the bathroom facilities. The main bedroom, Bedroom One, is furnished with a double bed, desk, coffee area, settee, Oujong man's cupboard with drawers, bookcase, and Persian carpet, along with 15-amp and twin plug outlets. It is located upstairs, overlooking the lounge area and accessed by stairs. Bedroom Two is furnished with two three-quarter beds and has its own door, accessed by the same stairs.
