The Lark is an open plan self-catering studio with a private entrance, covered patio, and enclosed garden located on De Weiglhuys Farm. It is a working farm, so day-to-day activities do occur. The kitchenette is equipped but simplistic. It includes a ceiling fan for hot summer days and electric heaters/heating blankets for cold winters. Guests have access to Wi-Fi and Open View TV (no DStv), which is connected to an inverter system.
The covered patio offers a four-seater table and chairs for outdoor dining, as well as a bench for relaxation. The rustic garden features a summer cold shower and a cozy fire pit for traditional South African braais. A starter supply of wood is provided. There is also an additional bench area for extra dining in the garden. The studio consists of a double bed, an open-plan kitchenette, and a separate bathroom with a shower facility.
The water supply is gravity-fed from a tower, providing sufficient pressure. While the property relies on Eskom for electricity, there is a small inverter for the Wi-Fi, TV, and charging of cell phones or laptops. Backup lanterns and fresh bottled water are available. No pets are allowed, but the farm has three dogs: Roxy, an elderly female Alsatian-Rottweiler mix; Duke, a large male German Shepherd; and Zena, an energetic female German Shepherd who loves to greet guests. There is also one roaming cat on the property.
