The Old Village

The Old Village in Modderfontein has been restored to its former authentic state, with each brick being carefully preserved. It has been relaunched as a venue conveniently situated on the N7 and the Spring Flower Route. The venue features upmarket guest cottages, an elegant country restaurant, and a pub that offer high-quality food and service.

The area surrounding The Old Village is rich in history, ranging from Bushman art etched into prehistoric rock faces to original wagon trails that carve their way through the treacherous passes of the surrounding mountains. The dramatic Grey's Pass, built by convicts under the supervision of Thomas Bain, also sits in this area. Each air-conditioned cottage at The Old Village is furnished with Old Cape antiques and individually decorated to create a unique character.
