The Orpen Kruger

The Orpen Lodge is a modern 4-star safari accommodation situated in Mpumalanga, South Africa, strategically positioned less than 100 meters from both the Kruger National Park's Orpen Gate and the Manyeleti Game Reserve. The lodge is renowned for its wildlife sightings and open-air bush boma dinners.

The property features 10 well-appointed chalets, each accommodating two adults. All chalets are equipped with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with indoor showers, bar fridges, hairdryers, and tea/coffee stations. Five chalets feature outdoor showers, while the remaining five offer outdoor baths. Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout the property.

The lodge's facilities include a high-ceilinged thatched guest lounge, dining room, bar, and backup generator. A centerpiece of the property is the luxurious swimming pool with poolside sunbeds. The boma area features a firepit where guests can enjoy three-course a la carte dinners under the African stars, occasionally accompanied by local African dancers.

Activities include daily game drives into both Kruger National Park and Manyeleti Game Reserve, offering exceptional Big5 viewing opportunities. Additional experiences include bush walks with rangers, cultural village tours, and visits to the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, which operates daily tours except during specific times on Sundays.

The Orpen Lodge operates as a partnership between the Mont d'Or Hotel Group and the Muthlwarini Cooperative, with support from Indalo Inclusive South Africa and partial funding from the Industrial Development Corporation. This collaboration ensures that a significant portion of the revenue and operations directly benefits the local community.
