The Outpost Dullstroom

The Outpost Dullstroom is a self-catering guest farm located approximately 15 km outside Dullstroom on the Machadodorp gravel road, which is maintained regularly and accessible for sedan cars. It offers various accommodation units set in the tranquil surroundings of lush Dullstroom, aiming to provide a comfortable experience for guests.

Fisherman's is a romantic cabin located in the forest, surrounded by naturally grown arum lilies, offering a spectacular view of the sunrise over the dam. Die Stal is a cosy cottage, including a selected DStv package, perfect for a family getaway, with a lovely sunset view of the farm and farm animals (cattle and sheep). Feathers is a homey unit with a view of the old stables, ideal for a couple seeking a relaxed stay.

The Dam Huis is a large family unit that sleeps 6, featuring selected DStv, one television, an indoor braai, and a pool table. The Sara units are suitable for golfers, birthday parties, and groups, with each unit sleeping 6 (in single beds). Separate ablution facilities are provided for gents and ladies, along with a fully equipped communal kitchen, cutlery, crockery, a guest lounge with a fireplace, braai facilities (outdoor), a lapa area, and a games room with a pool table. These units overlook one of the large dams on the farm.

All units have fireplaces and braai areas. Two large dams (not currently stocked) with jetties contribute to the ambiance of early morning strolls or sunset walks, where guests can observe abundant bird life and game viewing (blesbok, eland, springbok, ostriches, etc.). The critically endangered White-winged Flufftail and Wattled Crane are said to be found in this area. The enclosed game area is available for all guests. The acclaimed Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate is a mere 15km from The Outpost.

For those seeking a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, The Outpost Dullstroom offers various self-catering units with a spectacular view of the surrounding farms and one of the farm's trout dams. Wedding couples have a choice of either an indoor or outdoor forest chapel, both overlooking the trout dams. The solitary Fisherman's cabin, located in the wattle forest, provides a perfect setting for a romantic getaway, allowing guests to listen to the nesting fish eagles while enjoying the view of the early morning mist settling on the dam.

The Outpost offers affordable private accommodation for groups of golfers who enjoy a self-catering facility, including a self-catering bar and braai area. The venue is ideal for families seeking a break from city life, with an abundance of bird life, including the critically endangered White-winged Flufftail and Wattled Crane reportedly found in the area. Guests can also observe buck and farm animals. The Venue comprises 4 dormitory rooms with single beds, each capable of accommodating a maximum of 6 guests. It includes a communal bathroom, kitchen, guest lounge with a fireplace, games room with a pool table, and braai area, making it suitable for groups.
