The Rest Farm is located at the top of the water catchment deep in the Sneeuberg mountains of the Karoo region. It offers cosy cottages for accommodation. The Shepherd's Cottage is an authentic and comfortable option. It features a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom with beautiful views, a room with two single beds, and a small room with one single bed. The cottage has an inside bathroom with a bath, shower, and toilet, as well as an additional outdoor toilet. The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas oven, and double sinks. The spacious lounge/dining room has comfortable couches, chairs, and a dining table. It is equipped with a highly effective bosca fireplace that keeps the cottage warm during the coldest Sneeuberg nights.

The Garden House is a quaint cottage located among trees, making it a wonderful summer hideaway. It has a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, two bunk beds, and an open-plan lounge, dining room, and kitchen. There is a shower and toilet inside, as well as a hot outdoor shower. An old-style stove keeps the cottage warm during winter. The only door is on the bathroom, but curtains provide some privacy.

Guests can enjoy pollution-free air, listen to the sounds of nature, take a break from screens, and go for walks in the mountains while taking in the far-reaching views. The Rest Farm offers an authentic experience of a working cattle farm, with fully equipped farm cottages. It is perfect for a young family holiday, with opportunities to paddle in the river winding through the forest, take mountain hikes, walk the labyrinth, watch cows being milked, help with herding cattle, and enjoy breathtaking sunsets. Guests can order grass-fed, ethically reared beef from the farm for a braai and enjoy the night sky with an abundance of stars. A 30-minute scenic drive away is the famous village of Nieu Bethesda, where visitors can visit the Owl House, browse in a bookshop, or try the local fare. Wholesome, homemade meals can be ordered from the farm as an alternative to self-catering.

The cottages are suitable for families, couples, or solo travelers. Guests may be awakened by an eland grazing in their garden or encounter a zorse while strolling through the Karoo veld. It is important to note that this is a busy, working farm in an extremely remote part of the world, and guests are invited to experience an authentic farm life, which includes wildlife, insects, bats, muddy or bumpy roads, dust, strong winds, and other realities that will ground them and remind them of life before everything was sanitized. The prices are kept low to allow families to enjoy this experience, but it may not suit all tastes. Reduced rates are offered for solo travelers out of season.
