The Volmoed Trust

Volmoed Trust is a peaceful retreat and conference centre located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, approximately 90 minutes from Cape Town. The property spans 130 hectares of fynbos vegetation and features the Onrust River, which flows from Babylon's Toring through De Bos Dam, creating a tranquil waterfall and natural rock pool within the valley.

The facility offers various accommodation options across multiple self-catering units, each fully equipped to host between 2 to 12 guests. The property includes several distinct lodging choices: Grace Cottage, a double-bed unit with private garden and stoep; Oak Cottage and Faith Cottage, both two-bedroom units with garden settings; and the Old Farm House, a three-bedroom property featuring a fireplace and outdoor patio.

For larger groups, Keurboom Upper and Boekenhout Upper provide dormitory-style accommodation with bunk beds, large lounges, and fully equipped kitchens. Boekenhout Down offers a cozy bed-sitter unit for two. All accommodations come with braai (barbecue) facilities, and most include standard bedding and towels, though some budget options require guests to bring their own.

The venue serves as an ideal location for individual retreats, family holidays, weddings, conferences, and church gatherings. Group bookings for 20 or more people are welcomed with special arrangements available through the office. The facility operates on solar power and maintains a commitment to providing a space for healing and reconciliation.
