The Wallow Guesthouse is situated above the village of Wilderness, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. To the north lie the Outeniqua Mountains, while the ocean stretches to the south. Towards the east are the quaint towns of Sedgefield and Knysna. Guests can enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Kaaimans River Pass and Victoria Bay as the sun sets in the west over Herolds Bay.

The Wallow Guesthouse is set on a 3.25ha country estate, surrounded by indigenous forest and Fynbos, alongside a wallow once visited by the roaming Knysna elephants, though they are no longer present. It is situated in a nature conservation area, where wildlife abounds, including birds and regular sightings of the resident Crested Eagle hunting for its meal. Visitors can spot ducks, listen to owls hooting in the evenings, hear the croaking of frogs, observe swallows building their nests, and catch glimpses of cautious, wild Bushbuck wandering freely, making it an ideal venue to relax and unwind.

All units at The Wallow Guesthouse are ground level, with well-appointed furnishings and bedding with percale linen. Each unit has its own entrance and consists of one or two bedrooms, a lounge/dining area, TV, M-net, DVD player, and one DStv channel. The bathrooms are equipped with washbasins, showers, and toilets. Exterior bench tables on private decks allow guests to enjoy breakfast or sundowners while soaking up the view in crisp fresh air. Portable braais are provided for each unit, and off-street secure parking is available with one bay per unit.

The location of The Wallow Guesthouse is perfect for exploring the surrounding areas, with plenty to do. The Cango Caves, Knysna forests, and lagoons are just a short drive away. Guests can go hiking in the forests and river gorges, dive with sharks, experience treetop safaris, and take long walks along pristine beaches. Other activities include boating on Island Lake, paddling up the Serpentine or Kaaimans River, fishing in the lagoon, off the beach or deep sea, bass fishing at Groenvlei, sailing, hang gliding, watching Southern Right Whales from Dolphins Point, and surfing at the renowned spot of Victoria Bay. The Garden Route Mall with shops and cinemas is also nearby, and there are numerous golf courses in the vicinity, including Fancourt, Kingswood, and Oubaai.
