Thobeka Lodge

Thobeka Lodge is a rustic bush lodge located in Kosi Bay, situated close to beautiful beaches, game parks, and lakes. It is situated 6 km out of town, 14 km from the Mozambique border, 22 km from Ezemvelo main gate (Kosi Bay mouth - the ocean), and 8 km from the lakes and the office where permits are obtained for entering Ezemvelo Park.

The lodge advises guests to apply for a Rhino card on the kznwildlife website, as it is much cheaper than the daily entry fees to Ezemvelo Parks. Thobeka Lodge offers self-catering accommodation in true African style, including dormitories, twin, double, and family rooms. Each room is connected by a wooden walkway that leads to fully fitted kitchens, hot showers, toilets, and a swimming pool.

Guests can socialize in the bar area or lounge by the swimming pool. The fish from Kosi Bay Mouth can be cooked over an open fire and around a boma in the winter. Other activities include boat cruises, snorkeling, fishing, hiking, snorkeling, and kayaking in the estuary, fish trap tours, hiking in the Rafia Palm forest, visiting Tembe Elephant Park, and boat cruises on the three lakes.

The en-suite cabin has a double bed, a single bed, a private kitchenette with cooking utensils, crockery and fridge, braai facilities, and a gas geyser for hot water.
