Thokazi Royal Lodge

Thokazi Royal Lodge is a peaceful bush-style retreat situated in the majestic landscape of Zululand. The lodge features a picturesque stone farmhouse constructed in 1919. The name "Thokazi" means "heffe" in Zulu, reflecting the rich Zulu culture that is ever-present in this pastoral location.

The lodge is located close to the six Royal Residences of His Majesty King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu and the renowned Royal Route. It is approximately 1.5 hours away from the world-famous Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Big 5 Game Reserve, which offers spectacular game viewing opportunities throughout the year.

Thokazi Royal Lodge comprises three chalets in total, each with four standard bedrooms and one luxury room, all of which can be rented individually. Each standard room is equipped with a minibar, 32-inch plasma TV, fans, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a complimentary bottle from His Majesty's Bayedi wine collection. The common air-conditioned guest area includes a cozy dining and lounge area, as well as a fully equipped kitchen.

The lodge offers its visitors a magnificent taste sensation. Guests can sample traditional Zulu beer at the residents' local pub or enjoy dinner in a candlelit ambiance with attentive service and memorable cuisine. A delectable buffet of traditional Zulu food is available, along with an extensive choice of South Africa's best wines.
