Tholo Lodge

Tholo Lodge is a self-catering accommodation situated in the Tholo Bush Estate, a 2000-hectare nature reserve located in the heart of the Waterberg region, approximately 250 kilometers from Pretoria. The lodge comprises six spacious chalets, each with a private deck, walk-in closet, and en-suite bathroom, as well as a central dining area, lounge, and swimming pool.

On 24 December, the property was affected by severe floods, which caused the dam wall to break. As a result, the dam no longer exists, and a river now runs through the area where it was previously located. However, the lodge itself was not damaged.

Each luxurious chalet at Tholo Lodge provides privacy for guests and offers amenities such as a private deck overlooking the river, a walk-in closet, and a beautiful en-suite bathroom. The central area features a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, and two bathrooms. The main lodge setting is ideal for outdoor activities like bushveld braais and lazy brunches on the deck while overlooking the river.

Guests can enjoy various activities at Tholo Lodge, including cooling off in the swimming pool during warm bushveld summers, enjoying an African bush fire with an open fireplace, and watching the sunset from the deck while observing wildlife coming to drink from the river and listening to the call of the African Fish Eagle. Other available activities include canoeing, fishing, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, game viewing, game drives, and 4x4 trails.
