Thornbay Accommodation

Thornbay Accommodation is the premier establishment in Doringbaai, a small town in southern Namaqualand on South Africa's West Coast. The property features ten fully equipped, self-catering units, each themed and offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and its stunning sunsets.

The facility provides comprehensive amenities including a recreation room equipped with a pool table, foosball, and dartboard, plus a trampoline and swimming pool. Each unit has its own entrance, patio with braai (BBQ) area, and dedicated parking. Guests have access to a fully stocked fishery, firewood, ice, fishing tackle, and limited diving equipment. A restaurant and pub are conveniently located within walking distance.

The accommodation options range from studio apartments to two-bedroom units, accommodating between two and seven guests. All units come furnished with essential appliances, including microwaves, stoves, refrigerator/freezer combinations, kitchen utensils, and wall-mounted heaters. Digital Satellite television is standard in all units, and small pets are allowed by prior arrangement.

The surrounding Namaqualand area offers diverse attractions throughout the year, including deserted beaches for walking, 4x4 routes, mountain hiking trails, and the famous Namaqualand flower displays during late winter and spring. The region also boasts a world-renowned succulent nursery among its attractions.

Each unit is uniquely named after marine life, from the Shark Apartment, which can accommodate up to seven people, to the more intimate Yellow-tail Apartment, suitable for two guests. All units are furnished with quality bedding and bath towels, maintaining a high standard of comfort throughout the establishment.
