Thornhill Safari Lodge

Thornhill Safari Lodge is a safari accommodation located within the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem in South Africa, approximately 30 kilometers from the Orpen gate of Kruger National Park. It offers affordable getaways in 13 authentic thatch-roof chalets. The chalets feature vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture, creating a rustic yet stylish bush atmosphere. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, mosquito nets, and wooden decks overlooking the lodge, pool area, and surrounding bushveld.

The lodge caters to group bookings, couples, families, and honeymooners. Transfers can be arranged from Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. It offers a variety of rooms to suit individual needs, ranging from luxury honeymoon suites to standard family rooms. All rooms are individually decorated and comfortable, with private en-suite bathrooms.

Room amenities include air conditioning, mosquito nets over beds, hot water showers, coffee and tea stations, and wooden decks overlooking the bushveld or pool area. The honeymoon suites feature extra-length king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms with corner bath tubs, and outdoor showers. Luxury family rooms accommodate families with small children, offering either one extra-length king-size bed and two single extra-length beds or four single extra-length beds. Standard rooms provide an intimate old safari-style experience with options for double, twin, or triple occupancy, all with en-suite bathrooms, overhead fans, and air conditioning.

The lodge facilities include a swimming pool, bar, viewing deck, lounge and reading area, free Wi-Fi internet connection, and paid laundry service. Optional activities offered include Big Five game drives, guided nature walks (included in the stay), visits to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, and Panorama day tours. Spa treatments can be arranged with a travelling spa upon prior booking. Guests can experience morning game walks, full-day safaris in Kruger National Park, sunset game drives in neighbouring reserves, and exciting Big 5 game drives conducted in open-view vehicles. Personalised candle-lit dinners and cocktails on the sundowner deck create a romantic safari escape.
