Tomjachu Bush Retreat is an exclusive, family-owned private nature reserve spanning over 550 hectares (1300 acres) of mountain bushveld. Guests can explore the abundant plains game on hiking trails, mountain bike through the bush on easy or challenging routes, enjoy nature drives or guided bushwalks with an experienced ranger, or try their hand at fishing for bass and bream in the dams. Alternatively, they can unwind by the pool, listening to the symphony of over 265 bird species, while the fresh mountain air drifts up from the valley below.

The accommodation options include the Homestead and three delightful cottages, each with its own unique character and romance, accommodating up to 14 guests. The retreat also offers spectacular bush locations for memorable bush dinners under the stars, star-gazing experiences, and picnics at various picnic sites around the property. The multi award-winning Valbonne Villa provides exquisite comfort for up to 6 couples or 12 guests sharing, fully serviced with a 5-star TGCSA rating. It has been the regional winner and national runner-up of the Lilizela Tourism Awards for four consecutive years from 2014 to 2017.

As a third-generation family-owned property, Tomjachu Bush Retreat welcomes children of all ages. Families can explore the large reserve safely, as there is no dangerous game. Child-friendly guided walks, drives, and cycling trails for all ages and abilities are available. The Keeper's Cottage, located in a secluded bush location with mountain views, features one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, a large sitting room with an open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen/dining area, and a private swimming pool.
