Toro River Lodges is a Big 5 African Safari destination located in the Kruger area of South Africa, catering to safari dreams. It specializes in 'exclusive-use' safaris, meaning a group, family or friends will have one of the Safari Packages and accompanying Game Drive Vehicle/s with Guide/s all to themselves. The lodges offer self-catering packages designed especially for South African guests, while still providing lodging, drives, walks, and facilities.

Toro River Lodges comprises 7 spacious individual chalets with king-size beds and the option of a sleeper couch for kids, suitable for self-catering safari packages. All chalets have a prime elevated position overlooking the perennial Makhutswi River. The lodge facilities include a shared lounge, dining and relaxation space with a wooden deck overlooking the river and Toro Hippo Pool, and a raised high-tea area alongside the Hippo Pool. Three villas have been recently upgraded or rebuilt, and one is brand new, designed for privacy and optimum appreciation of the surrounding wilderness.

Each chalet is en-suite with a double volume wardrobe area, outdoor shower overlooking the river and indigenous vegetation, lounge area with fireplace, and expansive viewing deck with a covered seating area. Dietary preferences are catered for, and free Wi-Fi is available in the common area. Additionally, there are 2 chalets designated for guests' staff at no extra cost if required.

Brad & Cindy Philipps, together with their children Darren and Lyndsey, are the dedicated owners and driving forces behind Toro River Lodges, driven by their passion for conservation, safari lifestyles and South African heritage. They welcome friends and family groups to enjoy the intimate setting on the banks of the 'Makhutswi' River, sharing the area with hippos, crocodiles and frequent Big Five visitors. The game viewing experience is not confined to main roads, as guides navigate through dense bush following trackers, leading guests to unseen sights.
