Tranquilitas Adventure Farm

Tranquilitas Adventure Farm is situated in the hilltops of Waterval Boven, Mpumalanga, South Africa, overlooking the Elands Valley and Waterval Onder. This premier outdoor recreation destination is renowned for its exceptional rock climbing and mountain biking facilities, featuring over 600 bolted climbing routes and 80 kilometers of single-track mountain bike trails at elevations between 1600m and 2000m above sea level.

The property offers diverse accommodation options to suit various preferences. Four rustic self-catering chalets each accommodate up to four guests, featuring open-plan kitchen and lounge areas that extend onto covered patios with braai (barbecue) facilities. Six Perma-tents, located in the campsite area, sleep up to four people each and include basic kitchenette facilities, with access to nearby communal ablution blocks. Two luxury Max Tents, positioned for privacy with cliff and valley views, offer premium amenities including en-suite bathrooms, fully equipped kitchenettes, and private viewing decks.

The farmhouse, situated 2 kilometers from the main campsite, accommodates up to twelve guests with three indoor bedrooms, two outdoor rooms, three bathrooms, and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and living area. The property also features a campsite centered around a large swimming pool with shaded areas.

Additional activities available at Tranquilitas include trail running with routes ranging from 3km to 38km, family hiking trails with streams and a waterfall, and designated spots for picnicking and sundowners. The facility is pet-friendly and easily accessible from major Mpumalanga routes, with local stores available in Waterval Boven for supplies.

The mountain biking infrastructure is particularly noteworthy, featuring four to five kilometers of downhill flow-runs that can be descended without pedaling, while the climbing areas are conveniently located within walking distance of the campsite, offering routes on high-quality sandstone.
