Troutmere

Troutmere is a modern self-catering accommodation situated on a farm, six kilometres away from Belfast. It offers a beautiful backdrop for nature lovers, in a landscape of natural surroundings. The accommodation is provided in a large double-storey structure, set on the bank of a beautiful dam, with views of the dam and wetlands of Lakensvlei.

The lodge features four en-suite bedrooms, each equipped with a fireplace and offering views of the wetlands. The downstairs level consists of an open-plan living area and two en-suite bedrooms, while the upstairs area includes two en-suite bedrooms and a TV area on the loft. The fully equipped kitchen is designed for self-catering and includes amenities such as a double door fridge-freezer, microwave, and all necessary cutlery and crockery. An indoor fireplace warms the open-plan area during cold winter nights. The living area leads out onto a large wooden deck with braai facilities, facing the dam.

Guests are welcome to fish on a catch-and-release basis. The farm is also a bird lover's paradise, with a total of 128 species to be encountered, including waterfowl, secretary birds, and cranes.
