Tsitsikamma Gardens Self-Catering Cottages

Tsitsikamma Gardens Self-Catering Cottages is situated next to the N2 highway and a working dairy farm near the Stormsriver Bridge in the Tsitsikamma region of South Africa. It offers two self-catering cottages with easy access to various adventure activities in the area, including a zip line located less than a kilometer away. The cottages are set in a garden with beautiful mountain views, but guests should expect some traffic noise due to the proximity of the N2 highway.

A communal swimming pool is located at the main house and can be used daily by cottage guests until 6:30 PM. Children under 18 must be supervised when using the pool. The establishment also has an on-site restaurant open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last order at 5:30 PM), serving breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea, and cakes.

The cottages utilize natural spring water from their own borehole, which is also used in the restaurant and for watering the gardens. The name "Tsitsikamma" is derived from the Khoi word meaning "place of abundant or sparkling water."

Cottage #1 is an open-plan bachelor-style farm cottage that sleeps two guests in a queen-size bed. It features an open-plan lounge and kitchen area that opens onto a private patio with a braai/barbeque facility and views of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and garden. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, and a mini-stove with two hot plates and a mini-oven. The bathroom is en-suite with a shower. Cottage #1 offers free Wi-Fi (limited per day) and a smart TV.

Cottage #2 is a double-story farm cottage that can accommodate up to four guests, suitable for families with children over 12 or two couples who know each other well. This cottage has an open-plan lounge and kitchen area with two twin beds on the ground floor, opening onto a private patio with a braai/barbeque facility in a beautiful garden setting. The second floor features a large loft-style bedroom with a double bed and a private patio offering views of the surrounding farmland and Tsitsikamma Mountains. Please note that Cottage #2 has stairs leading to the second floor, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. The kitchen is equipped similarly to Cottage #1, and free Wi-Fi (limited per day) is provided.

Both cottages provide linen and towels, but guests must bring their own pool or beach towels. Tea, coffee, and toiletries are supplied for the arrival day only. Off-street parking is available, but at the guest's own risk. A minimum stay of two nights is required, with a three-night minimum during long weekends. Children under 12 are not allowed due to the surroundings, and no visitors or pets are permitted. The establishment is non-smoking.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking upon confirmation, with the balance due one month prior to arrival. Cancellations made less than 31 days before arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee, as well as for bookings between December 15 and January 15. The establishment recommends obtaining travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. Changes to confirmed bookings may be viewed as cancellations.

Guests are advised to allow additional travel time to accommodate speed limits, with an additional 45 minutes to 1 hour recommended for the stretch between George and Stormsriver.
