Tuningi Safari Lodge

Tuningi Safari Lodge is located in a valley on the western side of the Madikwe Game Reserve in the North-West Province of South Africa. The Madikwe Game Reserve is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa, spanning over 75,000 hectares of vast plains.

The lodge features four luxury suites and two family units, each consisting of two bedrooms with a lounge, kitchenette, and dining room separating the two rooms. The interior design is "Colonial African Chic." The main thatched lodge offers beautiful indoor and outdoor lounges, an elegant dining room, and a magnificent rim flow pool overlooking a waterhole.

Tuningi Safari Lodge is located approximately 4 hours' drive from Johannesburg. For those preferring to experience a fly-in safari, the reserve has an excellent all-weather 1,500-meter gravel airstrip with daily return shuttle flights from OR Tambo International Airport.

Wedding ceremonies at Tuningi Safari Lodge take place on a "koppie" (hill) overlooking the northern part of the Madikwe Game Reserve, combining African chic grace and charm. Guests can enjoy various treatments such as Indian head massages, foot massages, full body massages, manicures, and pedicures in their rooms.

The highly qualified rangers at Tuningi Safari Lodge offer guests a unique opportunity to learn about wildlife and bush etiquette, either on foot or in 4x4 open-air vehicles while searching for the Big 5, for which the reserve is renowned. Tuningi is one of the few lodges in a Big 5 reserve that allows children over the age of five to join their parents on the first game drive, while children under five can participate in short "kiddies bumbles" after breakfast in the mornings.
