Ultima Thule Cottages are situated on a small farm at the crest of a hill in the beautiful Natal Midlands. The cottages offer beautiful views of the magnificent Drakensberg range as well as the surrounding countryside. The focus of the establishment is to provide a tranquil and secure retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, ensuring that visitors leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. In the mornings, guests may awaken to the sounds of cattle lowing, guinea fowl and francolin chattering, and a cockerel welcoming the new day.

Complimentary amenities include wood for the braai and pure spring water. Guests can take gentle strolls across the land and pastures, enjoying the views or visiting seating areas in the forest overlooking the cattle grazing below. More ambitious visitors can test their stamina with a walk to the small dam, or simply relax on loungers and soak in the peace and quiet. The establishment is centrally located near renowned restaurants in the Midlands and along the Meander route, which offers various attractions for art, collectibles, leatherwear, cheeseries, and culinary delights. Nearby attractions include Midmar Dam, the Mandela Capture Site, Karkloof Canopy Tours, Abingdon Winery, and Terbodore Coffee Roasters, as well as popular wedding venues in the area.

The establishment offers a cozy, intimate hideaway for two, with a comfortable queen-size bed, a warm winter duvet for chilly nights, seating for two, and full premium DSTV on a flat-screen television. The cottage features a small but well-appointed kitchen and a bathroom with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. A minimum stay of two nights is required.
