Umshanti

Umshanti is a small private resort located on the Buffeljags Dam, approximately 12 kilometers from Swellendam. It offers an environment of peace, tranquility, adventure, and excitement. The resort provides accommodation in five simple cottages, a romantic timber cottage known as 'The Chapel' that is suitable for honeymooners, and a 'Gypsy Cottage'. Each cottage is equipped with a fully-equipped kitchen, and bedding is provided. Additionally, every cottage features braai facilities, and firewood is available for purchase at a reasonable fee.

At Umshanti, guests can enjoy a range of activities in nature's wonderland, including boat cruises, swimming, canoeing, hiking or mountain biking to stunning mountain pools, waterskiing, and more. The resort offers recreational opportunities for everyone. Conference facilities are also available on the premises.

For those who prefer camping, Umshanti provides six campsites, each with a 3x3-meter shade covering, electricity, a wooden table, and braai facilities. Two ablution blocks are available, each containing a shower, toilet, and basin. Each campsite can accommodate a maximum of five people. The resort also offers facilities for washing dishes and a freezer.
