The Babanango Game Reserve, spanning over 19,895 hectares of unspoiled wilderness, is home to an abundance of wildlife, including cheetahs, leopards, brown hyenas, jackals, buffaloes, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, elands, red hartebeests, kudus, nyalas, mountain reedbucks, and the elusive aardvark and aardwolf. By late 2022, lions and elephants will be introduced to the reserve, further enhancing the wildlife experience.

Nature enthusiasts can witness the diverse ecosystems surrounding the retreat, with 32 species of butterflies and the melodious presence of 311 species of birds, including rare species like the Pel's Fishing Owl and Narina Trogon. Guided nature drives are offered twice daily, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the captivating wonders of the surroundings. Cultural Tours to the nearby battlefield of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, providing insights into history and culture, are set to be launched soon.
