Van Zijl Guesthouses offers accommodation suitable for travelers passing through the area, whether traveling north or south, and can be visited throughout the year, not just during the flower season. The guesthouses consist of six beautifully restored traditional sandstone buildings, showcasing the architecture and stone masonry typical of Nieuwoudtville.

All guesthouses are fully equipped for self-catering, although it is highly recommended that guests indulge in the country cuisine served at the Smidswinkel Restaurant. The restaurant is within walking distance of all the guesthouses, so guests are not inconvenienced by long drives for an excellent meal, local wine, and good company. The restaurant and information center are situated in a large sandstone building that was previously occupied by the last blacksmith in Nieuwoudtville. It offers traditional farm-style meals, and for adventurous guests, it can even prepare baked "skilpadjies" (liver) or a traditional sheep head.

Guests are invited to enjoy a traditional yet exciting holiday with everything needed for true relaxation. One of the gorgeous, character-filled houses contains three double bedrooms, each with two single beds.
