Waterberg Guest Farm
Waterberg Guest Farm is an exclusive luxury guest house nestled in a wildlife sanctuary, situated on a vast 43,000-hectare game and cattle farm. The property encompasses a substantial portion of the famous Waterberg, with accommodations thoughtfully positioned on the slope of the Small Waterberg, offering guests a distinguished atmosphere and spectacular surroundings.
The establishment features four comfortably furnished rooms and four bush bungalows, all with en-suite facilities. The bush bungalows, constructed using natural materials from the Waterberg Mountain, blend contemporary African design with modern amenities and offer both indoor and outdoor shower options. The main building includes a lounge with a fireplace and library, perfect for winter evenings, while a traditional African grass-roofed "lapa," swimming pool, and viewing deck complete the facilities.
Dining at Waterberg Guest Farm is a notable experience, with the kitchen serving various traditional African dishes and barbecues, complemented by an extensive wine selection. Meals are served in a spacious dining room that encourages social interaction among guests.
The property offers numerous activities, including guided game drives in 4x4 vehicles, nature hikes, and visits to the neighboring Cheetah Conservation. Guests can observe wildlife from the viewing deck near the floodlit waterhole, where various animals, including antelope, warthogs, and occasionally leopards, gather under the watchful eyes of the resident baboon family.
The Schneider-Waterberg Family, who owns the establishment, is committed to sustainable and regenerative resource management. The farm operates as a working cattle ranch, breeding Santa Gertrudis cattle, and maintains a unique Arab-mix horse breed developed in the 1950s and 1960s. Experienced riders can participate in the annual Waterberg Endurance Race on their professionally trained Arab horses.
The Guest Farm, which began operations in the early 2000s, evolved from a 1930s manager's house and continues to provide personalized experiences for a limited number of guests, ensuring each visit can be tailored to individual preferences and special occasions.
