Waterbessiebos Cottage is an architect-designed, modern timber frame self-catering cottage. It is situated two metres above the ground and surrounded by indigenous bush. The cottage is securely fenced in.

The cottage features an open-plan setup with a queen-size bed, a bunk bed, and can accommodate up to three people. It has a fully equipped kitchen, ample cupboards furnished in Matumi (Kiaat wood), and a breakfast nook.

The cottage offers beautiful views of the surrounding bush, including Water Berry (Waterbessie, Syzygium Cordatum), Matumi (Mingerhout, Breonadia Salicina), Round-Leaved Teak (Dopperkiaat, Pterocarpus Rotundifolius), and other species and ferns. Visitors can observe monkeys, bushbucks, meerkats, guinea fowl, bush babies, muskeljaatkat, porcupines, and civets in their natural habitat. Additionally, various bird species can be spotted from the cottage's deck.

The cottage is ideally suited as a honeymoon suite, romantic getaway, or weekend retreat. It is centrally located near several interesting tourist spots around Tzaneen. For romantics, the cottage offers a magnificent garden with age-old Matumi trees and a meandering stream where visitors can take strolls. A splash pool set among the trees with surrounding wooden decks provides refreshing and romantic moments.

Bookings for the cottage require a minimum of two nights, except for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday bookings, which accept one-night reservations. Additionally, there is a separate 6-sleeper loft cottage ideal for families, consisting of one bedroom, one bathroom, a loft with a queen-size bed, a mezzanine floor with a twin/king bed and two single beds, a lounge, and a kitchenette with a breakfast bar.
