Waterbuck Lodge
SafariWaterbuck Lodge is situated in the Southern region of the Thornybush Nature Reserve, spanning 14,000 hectares. The lodge specializes in exclusive-use accommodations and features four luxury air-conditioned suites, each strategically positioned to ensure privacy and offering expansive views of the African landscape. The suites are equipped with spacious bathrooms, queen-size beds, outdoor showers, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
The main lodge area comprises a thatched open-plan dining room and lounge, complemented by a breakfast deck overlooking the estuary and a well-appointed bar. Located in the reserve's high water table area, the lodge sits adjacent to a dammed estuary, resulting in lush year-round vegetation. Guests have access to various amenities, including a private family-sized swimming pool.
The surrounding area is rich in wildlife, notably hosting Thornybush's largest elephant herd. The lodge's position within the Big 5 game reserve ensures excellent game viewing opportunities, particularly from the waterhole adjacent to the property. Guests can participate in dawn and dusk safaris in open Land Rovers. Three of the suites offer views of the riverine bush, while one overlooks the dam, providing varied perspectives of the natural surroundings.
