Waterford Manor is an elegant country retreat situated on a 10-hectare property along the Mooi River, just outside the village of Rosetta in KwaZulu Natal's Midlands region of South Africa. Located 8km from Nottingham Road and 12km from Mooi River town, the property boasts 700 meters of river frontage offering multiple spots for fly fishing and picnicking.
The estate features indigenous forest with magnificent trees and abundant wildlife, including buck, mongoose, porcupines, and otters. The area is also home to diverse birdlife, with resident Paradise Flycatchers and regular visits from Brown Eagles and Hammerkops. Guests can explore the property via designated walking trails, and enjoy the swimming pool with its wooden deck and braai lapa overlooking the river.
The accommodation options include both Bed & Breakfast and Self-catering units, each designed with privacy and comfort in mind. The property features several cottages, including the exclusive thatched Honeymoon Suite with river views. Each unit comes with private entrances, patios with BBQ facilities, and DStv. Notably, the Jasmine Family Cottage offers two bedrooms with a king-size bed and two three-quarter beds, while the intimate Hibiscus cottage provides a double bed with modern amenities. The Sunflower cottage caters to small families with a fully equipped kitchen, and the Protea suite offers luxurious river-facing accommodation with premium bathroom facilities.
The establishment serves a full English breakfast featuring a selection of yogurts, fruits, and cereals, followed by a plated main course of roasted tomatoes with basil, rosemary-sautéed mushrooms, bacon, sausages, and eggs, complemented by croissants or muffins, beverages, and fruit juice. The menu varies for extended stays to ensure variety for guests.
