Wayside Lodge

Wayside Lodge is situated between majestic mountains at the gateway to the Lowveld. It offers beautifully furnished rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Guests can choose between twin beds or a queen-size bed, and the rooms are equipped with a bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Some rooms have a private verandah.

The lodge provides a delicious breakfast and a scrumptious dinner, which can be arranged in advance. It also features a well-stocked bar, a sparkling swimming pool, inviting braai facilities, and secure parking behind remote-controlled gates.

Wayside Lodge is located in the picturesque village of Waterval Onder, which is located at the foot of the escarpment on the serene banks of the Elands River. The village is known for its breathtaking 228m waterfall, which inspired its name, meaning 'Below the Waterfall'. While Waterval Onder has not developed into a bustling town like its sister town, Waterval Boven, it remains a beloved South African getaway destination.

The lodge offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, providing a true relaxation experience. It is a suitable choice for a weekend retreat or a convenient stopover on the way to Kruger National Park or Mozambique. Deluxe twin rooms are available with two twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a day bed that can accommodate a child under 10 years old, a tea/coffee maker, and a private entrance.
