Weltevrede Fig Farm is a self-catering accommodation situated in a valley at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains. The farm features five guesthouses surrounded by gigantic blue gum trees, reminiscent of forgotten treasures and times. It is a place where the Bushmen left their history on the walls, and where willows hang their weary heads, with winds whispering ancient secrets and songs.

The on-site coffee and gift shop offers homemade fig preserves and various gifts for purchase, including the farm's famous fig tart. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the pools to find relief from the heat, with the option of a midnight swim. Each guesthouse has a private pool, except for Klein de Hoek. In winter, decadent fireplaces or ancient black stoves provide a cozy atmosphere.

Visitors to the farm can witness the fig harvesting process during the season, which runs from late January to the end of April. The farm is a popular cycling destination, with numerous roads to explore. Hiking enthusiasts can venture into the Kloof and experience the majestic mountains up close. Additionally, visitors can indulge in the favorite activity of stoep-sitting (sitting on the porch).

Other activities available for visitors include a guided historical walk through the town (inquire from the Tourism Bureau), a ramble along the "Gordon's koppie," an evening ghost walk, star tours, trips into the Swartberg Pass, a visit to the Prince Albert Gallery showcasing the work of numerous South African artists, exploring local shops and the weavery, enjoying traditional Karoo meals, and visiting the delightful Fransie Pienaar Museum, where a local farmer distills "Witblits."
