Wilge River Bush Camp is a serene camping destination situated on the banks of the Wilge River in the Bronkhorstspruit area of Gauteng, South Africa. The facility is conveniently located under two hours from Randburg and just over an hour from Pretoria, approximately 99 km from Pretoria CBD and 146 km from Lanseria International Airport.
The camp offers grassed camping and caravan stands with electrical connections, each site accommodating a maximum of six adults and two children under 12. Power boxes are positioned between stands, with each site having access to one plug point. Campers must bring their own camping equipment and long extension cords.
The facility features well-maintained amenities including clean ablution blocks with flushing toilets, wash basins, showers, and warm water, with the main ablutions offering two baths in the ladies' section. Recreational facilities include a swimming pool, an open lapa area overlooking the river, and an enclosed lapa space. A table tennis table is available in the main lapa.
The camp provides ample open space for various outdoor activities, including cycling, ball games, and kite flying. Visitors can enjoy the local birdlife, fishing in the river, and various walking and running trails. Non-motorized boats and paddle boards are welcome, with a launch point available by the bridge. Tubes are provided for use in both the river and pool.
